“PRICED FOR THE PEOPLE”
Wine has been around forever, or at least since about 6000 B.C. It is made in some form or other in many countries all around the globe. We are fortunate to have a thriving wine culture here under our own noses in the Pacific Northwest. From the delicate and delicious Pinot Noirs of the Willamette to the bold and brawny Cabs and Syrahs of the Columbia, we are located in the heart of incredible wine country. Unfortunately, due to market laws of supply and demand, much of the great wine made here in the Northwest is far too expensive for most of our pocketbooks. Consequently, you will see only a small variety of affordable local wines.
The good news is that there are many awesome wines from other parts of the world that are very tasty and reasonably priced. Therefore, our intent with our wine selection is to encourage you (through your palate) to travel to other faraway lands by opening and enjoying a bottle of wine. Tonight you may select a Malbec which will escort you on a visit to the terroir of the high country in Argentina where the vineyards are located on hillsides that are over 3,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Andes. Another thought would be to choose a bottle of Chianti and a trip to ancient Italy where some of the oldest wine producing regions in the world are located. For those of you interested in staying a little closer to home, we do have some tasty wines and good values on varietals from Yamhill County and other Northwest wine regions. How about a crisp and dry Oregon Pinot Gris to go with that fish dinner this evening?
Whatever you may be in the mood for, we hope that you do enjoy the journey that this bottle is about to take you on…
We have approximately 130 different kinds of wines on our shelves at the store at any given time. While we try to keep our loyal customer base happy by stocking those wines that they love, we are continuously searching for new and exciting releases. We specialize in the “under $10.00” bottle of wine. 75% of our entire stock is priced under $10.00. We also like to support the local economy of the wine industry and feature a wide assortment of local wines from around the Northwest.
OUR PRICING POLICY
The prices of our bottles of wine are some of the lowest in the city. The reason for this is quite simple: we strive to offer the most competitive prices in town, therefore, we don’t give a 15% or 20% discount on case purchases because our wines prices are not inflated (like most wine stores and supermarkets) to allow for the customer who wants the 20% case discount. While we will give a volume discount to anyone who would like a quote on a “case price”, we do not inflate our prices to automatically incorporate an additional 15% or 20% to allow for the case “discount”. This is very good for you the consumer as you are getting a very fair and honest price for your single bottle of wine. We encourage you to compare our wine prices with other stores and you will quickly see what we mean when we say: “WINES PRICED FOR THE PEOPLE”
OUR DISCOUNT SHELF
(THE LOWER LEFT HAND SHELF)
Because we are continually searching for new and exciting wines to add to our collection, AND because we have a very limited amount of shelf space to begin with, we offer you, our loyal customer, a great opportunity to purchase interesting bottles of wine at prices that are barely above cost. This is a shelf that you will want to pay close attention to as it is always changing and there are some very good deals on wines that we are saying good-bye to. Most of these are quality wines that have run their course at the store and are ready to fade into the mystic. (or into your shopping bag!) Check this shelf out!!
