Yes, it is technically a vegetable, but how many vegetables do YOU know that make off the hook pies and muffins?!? On sale this week at Cherry Sprout for $2.79/lb. Let’s get baking!

Manilla Mangoes ~ A Seasonal Treat

Manilla mango, aka ataulfo or Champagne mango.

Don’t wait to try these beautiful and incredibly rich and juicy mangoes. A Mexican variety, they are not available for most of the year. Their smooth, thin skin is green when unripe, changing to a glowing yellow as they ripen (and sweeten!) Manilla mangoes are at their finest when their skin is a little wrinkly. Their flesh is smooth and firm with no fibers and their taste is full, sweet and creamy. A perfect treat for a sunny afternoon!
