No silly, not “stoned” fruits, STONE fruits! You know, those delicious, juicy bright fruits with the big old pit in the middle? I always know that summer is right around the corner when the stone fruits arrive. What a spectrum of taste and color! Some people prefer stone fruits firm and tart, while others will enjoy them most when they are very soft and sweet. Either way, if you need to ripen your stone fruits a little or a lot, try putting them in a paper bag closed in along with a ripe banana or apple. Keep the bag on a warm countertop and check on your fruits every couple of days until they’ve ripened to perfection.
